Sc430 Roof Will Not Open

Ok it is the trunk latch and the retractable roof on the sc430.

Sc430 roof will not open.

So the car was parked up indoors in september and battery disconnected. Today when closing the roof on a 2006 sc430 we noticed that despite holding down the roof button the front windows did not close after the roof had closed they did however close with the switches on the door. Roof top not opening when press the button apr 17 2015. When i press the button it only opens the rear trunk and could hear the roof motor unlocking functioning but will not open.

Just now reconnected fresh battery and she sprang to life immediately of course and everything is fine except the boot and roof will not operate from the switches. We then noticed that the roof open button was showing red as though the roof hadn t completed closing although the roof was up. The roof will not fold down and the trunk will not automatically open from the interior latch. This appears to be a fairly common problem but my searches so far have not revealed anything concrete to troubleshoot and resolve. It only opens about a couple to few inches and stops. Fuel door works fine.
